AI & Robotics Roundtable
UW Science Hub invites UW faculty, UW Graduate students, and Amazon scientists to participate in launching a technical community of interest.
This roundtable event will facilitate an exchange of research capabilities, applications and interests, ahead of the Science Hub’s research proposal deadline in mid-March. Featuring a mix of talks and networking, roundtable participants will have the opportunity to build and deepen connections with prospective UW and Amazon project proposers.
The event will be held in-person on the UW Seattle’s campus in the Bill & Melinda Gates Center for Computer Science & Engineering Zillows Commons (CSE2) on Friday, March 11, 2022 at 1:30 PM.

Lightning Talks
UW Faculty are invited to present a brief (~1 minute) lightning talk to introduce themselves. If interested, please insert a slide into this slide deck. A slide is not required to make a lightning presentation.
Graduate Student Participation
Subject to space constraints, graduate students will be welcome to participate. Graduate students whose research is relevant to the Science Hub should RSVP. We will confirm student participation by email once capacity is confirmed.

Can I participate virtually?
We are exploring options for recording or streaming the event to share internally, but at this time, the event will be held exclusively in-person. If you are interested in connecting with UW faculty but unable to attend in-person, please complete the RSVP form, filling in your research interests, and indicate that ‘no’ you are not planning to attend in-person. If a streaming option becomes available, we will reach out.
Who will attend the event?
The primary audiences are UW faculty and Amazon Scientists from Robotics AI.
What are UW COVID-19 protocol’s for visitors?
The UW events team will check for proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test result when guests check-in at the event.
What are the details of the Call for Proposals (CFP)?
One avenue for faculty engagement is through research projects. Please see the UW Science Hub site for current Call for Proposals information. The CFP is open to all UW faculty and due March 25, 2022. Topic areas include: robotic manipulation; autonomous mobility; computer vision; machine learning; modeling, simulation, and verification; human-robot interaction.
